Today at ELAU headquarters in Kampala, Country Chief of Labour Affairs Usher Wilson Owere and President of Migrant Workers' Voice Mr Kayonde Abdallah led a delegation of private external labour sector stakeholders for a consultative meeting.

The stakeholders engaged in discussions on Uganda migrant workers' social welfare insurance proposal, suggesting alternative options to NSSF and mere commercial insurance.

The External Labour Power House is the new coalition of all private external labour sector institutions under one stop center for better management of migrant workers affairs abroad and promotion of migration governance as required by the international labour standards.

Through such collaboration and engagement, we can work towards improving the labour conditions and rights of workers in the external labour sector.

This collaboration seeks to ensure the safety and social welfare of Uganda's migrant workers who contribute significantly to the economy.
