Some of the reasons include:
1. Protection of migrant workers: Migrant workers face various challenges and risks such as exploitation, discrimination, and poor working and living conditions. Involving all stakeholders will help identify these risks and address them to protect migrant workers.
2. Policy formulation: The involvement of diverse stakeholders will ensure that policies are formulated and implemented in a more inclusive and effective manner. This will lead to better policies that reflect the interests and needs of all stakeholders.
3. Integration of migrant workers: Ugandan migrant workers abroad often face challenges in adapting to their new environment. Engaging migrant workers' representatives will help to integrate them better and ensure that they become productive members of their host communities.
4. Economic benefits: Labor migration can have significant economic benefits for both the sending and receiving countries. Involving all stakeholders will help to ensure that these benefits are identified and maximized.
5. Fulfillment of international obligations: Uganda has various international obligations to promote and protect the rights and welfare of migrant workers. Involving all stakeholders will help the country to fulfill these obligations effectively.
In conclusion, a Multitaskholder approach and inclusion of all stakeholders, including Uganda migrant workers' representatives, is essential in safeguarding, promoting, and protecting the rights and welfare of Ugandan migrant workers abroad. It will enable better policy formulation, integration of migrant workers, economic benefits, and fulfillment of international obligations.
